Cancers we treat

Our patients have access to a network of board-certified physicians who perform complex surgery and offer treatment for various cancerous conditions, including:

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in women and one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in women in the U.S. Our experienced breast surgeons are skilled in a wide range of surgical procedures to treat breast cancer, often performing cosmetic reconstructive surgery during the same procedure (oncuplastics).

A focus on minimally invasive techniques and collaboration with other physicians allows our team to provide comprehensive, compassionate breast cancer care.

Esophageal cancer

Esophageal cancer is often detected at later stages. If it is found early, sometimes endoscopic therapies are possible and surgery may not be necessary. There are two common types: adenocarcinoma (found in the cells where the lower esophagus meets the stomach) and squamous cell carcinoma (found in the cells in the upper and middle parts of the esophagus).

Most often, our team of specialists treats esophageal cancer with a multidisciplinary approach of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery.

Gynecologic cancer

Our gynecologic oncologists specialize in the diagnosis and biopsy of abnormal gynecologic tumors/growths and provide follow-up about your condition. Additionally, you have access to consultations to discuss appropriate treatment options such as surgery, chemotherapy, hormones, poly ADP ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitors, HIPEC and anti-angiogenesis drugs.

We treat a wide range of gynecologic cancers, including:

  • Ovarian cancer
  • Uterine cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Vulvar cancer
  • Vaginal cancer

Our physicians also provide consultation and treatment of cancers associated with BRCA1, BRCA2 and other genetic mutations. We also offer appropriate treatment of dysplasia and complicated gynecologic problems through the referral of your gynecologist.

Head and neck cancer

Our experts in head and neck cancer offer a wide range of services for patients with many rare otolaryngological tumors and conditions, including:

  • Oral cavity cancer
  • Laryngeal cancer
  • Pharyngeal (throat) cancer
  • Thyroid tumors
  • Parathyroid tumors
  • Salivary gland tumors
  • HPV-related cancer, including oropharyngeal cancer

Lung cancer

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women. Our thoracic surgeons excels at treating non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer, prioritizing helping each patient return to the best possible health after a diagnosis.

While each patient reacts differently to treatment and takes a different recovery path, we ensure you have the support you need during your treatment and recovery.

Our cancer treatment options and services

The physicians within our network of providers who treat cancer specialize in radiation therapy and surgical removal of cancerous tissue and tumors. The most effective type of treatment depends on the location and type of tumor, the stage of your disease and overall general condition. We offer several different cancer treatment options for patients, including:

Radiation therapy

We offer a range of advanced radiation therapies as one approach to treat various types of cancer. With extensive clinical radiation oncology experience, you can trust our experts to offer personalized care plans and communicate with you and your family every step of the way.

Surgical treatment

Another essential part of cancer treatment involves removing the tumor and surrounding cancerous tissue through surgery. Our medical group includes highly trained surgeons who, collectively, are able to perform surgery on nearly the whole body.

In addition, many of our surgeons use minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery, to remove tumors. In this approach, the procedure is done through very small incisions, resulting in less pain, reduced scarring and a quicker recovery for our patients.

Cardio-oncology care

Cancer survival rates are improving each year. However, cancer treatment can be damaging to other parts of the body, especially the heart. Many people who are going through or have had cancer treatment have several other conditions placing stress on the heart.

We provide cardiovascular support for oncology patients before, during and after treatment. Our services include:

  • Risk factor assessment
  • Pre-existing cardiovascular condition treatment/management
  • Regular monitoring during treatment
  • Any heart care needs that arise during treatment
  • Follow up for high-risk patients
  • Treatment for cancer survivors with cardiac damage
  • Advanced cardiovascular imaging
